I have never felt comfortable with the thought that I am here to make the world a ‘better’ place.

I have never imagined my contribution would or could ever do anything on that grand a scale.

All I have ever known is that I wanted to treat people with respect and even love.

And if that in some small way contributed to a better world, then so be it.

It wasn’t until I was reading the Juilliard Journal and saw the words of a beautiful young dancer advising new students, that I found what had eluded me and the power I felt from it, to actually produce change.

“…the Juilliard community is full of beautiful souls all wanting to make the world a more ‘artistic’ place”.

Thanks to that beautiful young dancer, Kalyn Berg, for putting into words a message that feels possible, that I can translate into action, and one that feels like coming home.
